Care Ministries

Bath Church is a committed caring community of faith. The Bath Church Care Ministry is a key part of the life of the church and our congregation. While each of these entities has its own unique purpose to assist those in need in our congregation and also in our community, we function largely on the love and commitment of volunteers to serve in the name of Christ.

Pastoral Care

Our pastors and professional staff are available to provide pastoral/spiritual care from the office, in your home, in the hospital, senior living facility, nursing facility, and also via phone or email.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers provide a one-to-one caring ministry to people experiencing grief, divorce, loneliness, job loss, hospitalization, and many life difficulties. Stephen Ministers are prayerfully-matched with people who are going through a stressful time or life difficulty. A Stephen Minister meets with the person once-a-week for about an hour to listen, care, encourage and pray. The Stephen Minister brings Christ’s presence into the person’s life and also experiences Christ in the other person. It’s really a life-changing ministry for both the care receiver and the Stephen Minister. The ministry is available for members and non-members. Click here for more information.

Samaritan Ministry

The Samaritans visit those homebound on a monthly basis and assist in providing short-term meals and transportation. to those in need. They also send flowers and cards to those who are hospitalized, sick, grieving, and those celebrating significant birthdays or anniversaries.

Prayer

Our policy includes requesting and being granted permission by the person who is to be placed on the prayer list. The requests are submitted in writing and any request not updated in 30 days will be removed. Please send your confidential prayer requests to prayerchain@bathucc.org .

Prayer Shawl Ministry

These volunteers knit or crochet prayer shawls. They meet monthly to share together and bless the shawls. The sacred shawls are given to people who need healing, comfort, encouragement. People wrap themselves in the love and prayers woven into every stitch. Open to church members and non-members.

Breadwinners

What says care better than the aroma, warmth, and taste of fresh baked home-made bread. These volunteers meet monthly to prepare and deliver bread to those for whom we have provided special care, for some celebrations, and for new members.

Worship Services

We believe that being together in worship is also an expression of caring and healing. Whomever you are, wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.
