Our Church,
Our Legacy, Our Path to the Future! Capital Campaign
Our future as a thriving
church in the Bath and surrounding communities will be determined in
large measure by how we respond to the changing lifestyles and needs of
our congregation and potential members. Bath Church has undertaken Long
Range Planning, about every 7-10 years. One such planning initiative was
recently completed. It identified youth and young families as a growing
constituency whose needs must be addressed by a Church that wishes to
remain vital.
To that end, the
re-purposing of Fellowship Hall into a truly multi-use facility will
provide Bath Church with the flexibility to speak to members and
neighbors alike with ministries such as Lock-ins; craft fairs; dances;
exercise groups such as Tai Chi, Jazzercise, dance classes and
gymnastics, the performing arts, music and many other vehicles.
The Capital Campaign
commences September 23rd. It is our hope that you will
participate and support the decision made by the Congregation August 26th.
A successful campaign will ensure the future of Bath Church for
generations to come, through the retirement of the construction loan,
the re-purposing of Fellowship Hall and the establishment of an
endowment to help fund the on-going maintenance and repair of our 10
acre Bath Church Campus.
Join us
September 23rd for the Campaign "Kick-Off" - 4:30pm!!

THE BATH
CHURCH PRESENTS
“AN EVENING WITH MADELINE MACNEIL”
Please join us on Saturday September 22nd at 7 pm as
The Bath Church welcomes Madeline Macneil In Concert. Admission is free
to all – but a free will offering will be taken. This concert will be a
benefit evening for our 2008 Royal Family Kids’ Camp.
It
has been said that Madeline MacNeil’s audiences hold their collective
breath as the last notes of her songs drift thru the auditorium. Since
1972, Madeline’s goal has been to bring listeners into the song. This is
a part of her treasure as a performer: she sings and tells the stories
with her beautiful voice and exceptional skills on both the hammered and
mountain dulcimers.
This first generation Virginian combines the roots of her family history
as she sings the songs of her ancestors from New England, Cape Breton
and Scotland with an Appalachian Virginian twist.
Madeline was the
publisher of the premier trade publication for dulcimer enthusiasts –
The Dulcimer Player’s News. She has turned the magazine over to new
hands to permit her to spend more time on her first love – playing and
singing music. Madeline’s concerts have taken her across the nation and
throughout the world – and now for one night only she will lift her
voice for a memorable evening in the sanctuary of The Bath Church. |
