WORDS OF WELCOME AND COMMUNITY INTEREST

Welcome to The Bath Church as we ‘Come Together’ for worship on this first Sunday of Kingdomtide We especially welcome those who are guests with us today. We look forward to giving you a "Welcome Bag" as you leave the sanctuary so that you can become better acquainted with us. Thank you for coming to worship, and we hope that you will join us each Sunday.

PRELUDE: Benedictus on Sicilian Mariners Gordon Young

- As the Prelude begins, let us with silence prepare our hearts for worship -

p CALL TO WORSHIP:

Leader: We come together to give thanks to God, our Creator and Sustainer.

People: We gather to join our voices to praise God and Jesus Christ, God’s Son.

Leader: Let us open our minds and hearts to hear the Word of God and to learn what is expected of present-day disciples of Jesus.

People: Come let us worship!

p HYMN OF PRAISE: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name! No. 106

p COMMUNITY PRAYER:

Eternal and Everlasting God, we know that you are the same yesterday, today and forever, and that we can depend on your never changing love revealed to us in Jesus Christ. We try to be faithful disciples loving one another, doing what is right and forgiving one another as you forgive us. Yet we fall short of your desires for us. Forgive us, we pray. Use us as your children for the building of your kingdom and for the spreading of your Good News of love and forgiveness. Amen.

In silence we bring our personal prayers …

p SILENT PRAYER, ASSURANCE of PARDON, PASSING GOD’S PEACE: "May the peace of Christ be with you."

p RESPONSE: Lord, We Lift Your Name on High No. 88

Lord, I lift your name on high. Lord. I love to sing your praises.

I’m so glad you’re in my life. I’m so glad you came to save us.

You came from heaven to earth to show the way, from the earth to the cross,

My debt to pay; from the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky,

Lord, I lift your name on high.

UNISON PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING AND THE LORD’S PRAYER:

Eternal God, you have called your people from the east and west and north and south to feast at the table of Jesus Christ. We thank you for Christ’s presence and for the spiritual food of Christ’s body and blood. By the power of your Holy Spirit, keep us faithful to your will. Go with us to the streets, to our homes, and to our places of labor and leisure that whether we are gathered or scattered, we may be the servant church of the servant Christ, who taught us to pray together:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

p HYMN OF COMMITMENT: My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less No. 405

p THE BENEDICTION AND BLESSING

Our tradition is to hold hands during the singing of the Benediction.

Go now in peace, never be afraid.

God will go with you each hour of every day.

Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.
