S WORSHIP SPLASH for Sept. 21 - COME TOGETHER! NOTE NEW FALL SCHEDULE!!!

o Sunday Worship: 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary

o Sunday Creative Worship: 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary – check it out! We share the same sermon theme as in the morning. Hymns words you can see (without a large-print bulletins) projected on the screen. Casual dress. Less formal liturgy. Try it you might just be surprised how meaningful you will find it.

o LINDA ROBBINS from the "Giving Hope" program will be here tonight at 6:30pm sharing about the teen outreach program. This presentation is open to all and we would love to have a good crowd here to listen and learn.

o Ruth Cook is home following several days in the hospital for treatment of an infection.

o Muriel Gentsch hopes to return home tomorrow following a "tune up" in the hospital.

S EVENTS THIS WEEK SPLASH

o GREETER & HOSPITALITY MINISTRY: Meeting of all those involved or interested in the Greeter and Hospitality ministries at Bath Church to enhance our welcome of guests. Thurs. Sept. 25, 7:30pm. Hospitality Room (#103) for discussion & training on this vital ministry. Questions: Tom Kerns 330-659-4409, or one of the pastors.

o Organ Recital by Christopher Lees! Fri., Sept. 26 – 7:30 PM Sanctuary. Christopher is Associate Conductor- Akron Symphony Orchestra; Music Director-Akron Youth Symphony; Director Of Orchestras-Kent State University. A wonderful opportunity to hear great music. Come and bring all your friends and neighbors to this community event! Free-will offering.

o WCF Craft Nights: Fri. Sept. 26. Community Room. Work on a project or learn a new hobby. Bring a friend. $5.00 & a snack to share, beverages & tableware provided. Drop in for an hour or for the whole evening. Start at 7pm & end at midnight. o WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY SMALL GROUPS & Dinner

§ DINNER: 6:00 – 6:50 P.M. In Fellowship Hall. Eat and Fellowship over Dinner whether or not you are participating in a small group! Cost: donation.

§ Small Groups: Most small groups are still open to newcomers. Check the list displayed in the narthex. New Groups are still a possibility. Got an idea… a group you want to lead. Contact Pastor Jim.

§ New Group: Pie Making! Discuss recipes and make pies in the Fellowship Hall following dinner. Pies will be frozen to sale in the fall Church Boutique. Wednesdays during Oct. Contact Betsy Painting for more info.

§ VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for WONDERFUL WEDNESDAYS children’s classes (5:30-6:00pm & 7-8:00pm) Please contact Connie Claes (666.3520.ext.17) We would like to offer more choices of classes but we need you to help lead them. Each class is 4 weeks.

o Workshop on "Holy Conversation" led by Dr. Richard Peace. Thurs. Oct. 2nd 1:30 - 3:30pm. Hospitality Room. EVERYONE WELCOME. Dr. Peace, the Robert Boyd Munger Professor of Evangelism and Spiritual Formation at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, a minister in the UCC,  has over a hundred and fifty titles to his credit most recently Holy Conversation: Talking About God in Everyday Life. Free. Come and Learn…

§ How to talk about topics such as faith, repentance, commitment, and (especially) Jesus in an easy conversational way.

§ How to tell stories, big and small, in which the "aliveness" of God is evident.

§ How to organize Holy Conversation groups in your church

o THE EVENING WOMEN'S GROUP Oct. event at Walsh Farms in Doylestown, Sun. Oct. 12. 4:00pm.  Experience the new elaborate 26 acre corn maze this year along with all the other fun things we've enjoyed before.  Meet at the entrance between 4:00-4:15 to buy tickets.  Directions can be found on their website at:  http://www.walshfarmsinc.com   open until 8:00pm.  Questions, please call Lisa Martin 330-665-2232.

o FALL MISSION APPEAL: This year’s Fall Mission Appeal will help the "Giving Hope" Program which supports children from Africa affected by HIV/AIDS and Airfare Assistance Fund which helps local families fly their soldier home before or after deployment. More in depth information about these worthy causes can be found in the Narthex.

o TREASURY NOTES: We need more $$$ to support our ministry and mission (budget).

   

S RANDOM SPLASHWith discussion of a 700 billion dollar bail out… I find it hard to be funny this week. Humor. particular this kind of humor, seems trite in the midst of our current national/global economic crisis. Hopefully Random Splash will return next week.
