Ministries at Bath ChurchHow We Care for People within The Bath Church
Pastoral Care: Rev. Mark Frey,
Rev. Jim Cunningham
Our pastors and professional staff are available to
provide pastoral/spiritual care from the office, in your home, in the
hospital, senior living facility, nursing facility, and also via phone or
email.
Parish Nurse Ministry:
Karen Lordan
Our Parish Nurse assisted by
several volunteers provides health screenings such as blood pressure checks
(3rd Sun. each month), health education, advocacy, health counseling and
consultation. The parish Nurse arranges for flu shots, CPR and AED training,
and coordinates the loaning of health care related equipment.
Counseling Ministry: Amy Kathe
We have contracted with
independent professional counselors who provide counseling services for
members and non-members from space donated by the church. They have private,
direct phone numbers.
Stephen Ministry:
Carolyn Chapman, Joan & Harry
Albrecht, Sandy & Bob Roeger
Stephen Ministers provide
one-to-care Christian caregiving to people dealing with the stresses of life
and transitions in life… such as illness, grief, empty nest, child birth,
marriage, divorce, unemployment, etc. Stephen Ministers visit with those in
need weekly for a hour. The ministry is available for members and
non-members.
Samaritan Ministry: Martha Salem
Samaritan Ministers visit shut-ins monthly,
and also assist in providing meals and transportation on a short-term basis.
They also send flowers and cards for the hospitalized, sick, grieving, and
also many who are celebrating significant birthdays or anniversaries.
Prayer Chain: Rev.
Jim Cunningham
These volunteers
agree to pray daily for people who request prayer (members or non-members).
Please contact Rev. Cunningham with your prayer requests
(jcunningham@bathucc.org;
330-666-3520 ext. 12).
Prayer Shawl Ministry: Nancy Schrader
These volunteers
knit or crochet prayer shawls. They meet monthly to share together and bless
the shawls. The sacred shawls are given to people who need healing, comfort,
encouragement. People wrap themselves in the love and prayers woven into
every stitch. For members or non-members.
Breadwinners: Betty Merryweather
What says care better than the aroma, warmth, and taste
of fresh baked home made bread. These volunteers meet monthly to prepare and
deliver bread to those for whom we have provided special care, for some
celebrations, and for new members.
Fitness Ministry: Laurie Heidman
Several trained people provide forms of physical fitness
from Tai Chi to stretching and toning and weight training. Open to the
community.
Anointing for Healing
Anointing is offered during worship on the 3rd Sunday
each month.
Worship Services
We believe that being together in worship is also an
expression of caring and healing. Who ever you are, wherever you are on
life’s journey, you are welcome here.
