WORDS OF WELCOME
AND COMMUNITY INTEREST
Welcome to The
Bath Church! If you are a guest with us today, we look forward to giving
you a "Welcome Bag" as you leave the sanctuary so that you can become
better acquainted with us. Thank you for coming to worship, and we hope
that you will join us each Sunday.
PRELUDE: Rigaudon
Andre Compra
- As the Prelude
begins, let us with silence prepare our hearts for worship -
p CALL TO WORSHIP:
Leader: Come,
let us sing to the Lord.
People: Let us
make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Leader: Let us
come before God’s presence with thanksgiving.
People: For
the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
Leader: Let us
worship our God, the God of Love and Life!
People: Amen!
p HYMN OF PRAISE: Come To A Wedding
(Tune: Morning Has Broken) No. 609
p COMMUNITY PRAYER:
Lord, we come
this morning because we know how much we need faith, hope, and love. We
understand that love never gives up, and faith, hope, and patience never
fail when we truly love. Send your Spirit upon us as we worship that
love may be rekindled in our lives, and as it burns within us it may
ignite all our actions. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
In silence
we bring our personal prayers …
p SILENT PRAYER, PASSING GOD’S PEACE:
"May the peace of Christ be with you."
p RESPONSE: Lord, We Lift Your Name on
High No.88
Lord, I lift
your name on high. Lord. I love to sing your praises.
I’m so glad
you’re in my life. I’m so glad you came to save us.
You came from
heaven to earth to show the way, from the earth to the cross,
My debt to
pay; from the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky,
Lord, I lift
your name on high.

"There is
no such thing as a little bit of torture."
-- Alfred
W. McCoy, author "A Question of Torture: CIA Interrogation, from the
Cold War to the War on Terror"
The familiar and disturbing pictures of torture at Iraq's Abu Ghraib
prison raise many troubling questions: How did torture become an
accepted practice at Abu Ghraib? Did U.S. government policies make
it possible? How much damage has the aftermath of Abu Ghraib had on
America's credibility as a defender of freedom and human rights
around the world?
Acclaimed filmmaker Rory Kennedy (HBO's "Indian Point: Imagining the
Unimaginable") looks beyond the headlines to investigate the
psychological and political context in which torture occurred when
the powerful documentary GHOSTS OF ABU GHRAIB.

CAMP
It’s almost here!
Our RFKC week is rapidly approaching (yay!) and I think we only
Need help in two
more areas.
First: Each child
receives a birthday box at our birthday party and we are short four girl
boxes. We give you
the box and ask that you fill it with little goodies (no food) for the
girls.
We’ll even show
you a sample box to give specific ideas.
Second: We are
looking for 3-4 people who will be willing to come to Ashland on Friday,
July 25th
around 11:00 AM to help pack us up. It will only take one or two hours, and
we’ll
even feed you
Lunch!
If you could help
with either of these things, please let me know A.S.A.P!
Thank you, Karen
Brandt (330-666-4829)
