WORDS OF WELCOME AND COMMUNITY INTEREST
Welcome to The Bath Church on this Transfiguration Sunday, the last
Sunday in Epiphany. This is the last Sunday that we are surrounded by
the beautiful artwork which celebrates the manifestation of gifts in
art. Today is also Boy Scout Sunday and we welcome the boys and families
of Troop 385 to our worship. We welcome those who are guests with us
today. We look forward to giving you a "Welcome Bag" as you leave the
sanctuary so that you can become better acquainted with us. Thank you
for coming to worship, and we hope that you will join us each Sunday.
PRELUDE: All Creatures of Our God and King Valerie
Stephenson
- As the Prelude begins, let us with silence prepare our
hearts for worship -
PRESENTATION OF COLORS AND PLEDGE Boy Scout Troop 385
p CALL TO WORSHIP:
Leader: The Lord, our God, is exalted over all people.
People: We will praise his great and awesome name.
Leader: The Almighty God is a lover of justice.
People: We will extol the Lord our God and worship at his holy
mountain, for the Lord our God is holy.
Leader: Come, let us worship the God of creation.
All: We gather to give God our thanks and praise!
p HYMN OF PRAISE: O Worship the
King No. 2
p COMMUNITY PRAYER:
Merciful God, we humbly confess that, rather than being instruments
of your divine Light, we often live as victims of the darkness and our
souls are, at best, dim candles. Forgive us our failure to reflect the
brightness of your love and mercy, and make us radiant lamps for your
coming Reign until its bright day at last dawns in all its glory. In
Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
In silence we bring our prayers of confession….
p SILENT PRAYER • WORDS OF ASSURANCE •
PASSING GOD’S PEACE: "May the peace of Christ be with you."
p RESPONSE: Tune: The First Noel
No. 229
Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord;
That has made heaven and earth of naught,
And with his grace our lives have sought.

UNISON PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING AND THE LORD’S PRAYER:
Eternal God, you have called your people from the
east and west and north and south to feast at the table of Jesus Christ.
We thank you for Christ’s presence and for the spiritual food of
Christ’s body and blood. By the power of your Holy Spirit, keep us
faithful to your will. Go with us to the streets, to our homes, and to
our places of labor and leisure that whether we are gathered or
scattered, we may be the servant church of the servant Christ, who
taught us to pray together: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed
be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we
forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the
glory, forever. Amen.
p HYMN OF COMMITMENT: Guide Me, O
Thou Great Jehovah No. 501

THEREFORE, in reconstructing this list, you may be getting a copy of
Splash you do not want! If so, just email me at jcunningham@bathucc.org
and say, "no thanks," and I will remove your address from this
mailing list. Or, you may get more than one copy and if so,
please use the email link above to tell me "one copy please!"
Thank you for your support and patience. This mailing list is
never sold or shared with anyone else. If you did not get a copy,
and want to receive this weekly email newsletter, please email me:
