WELCOME
Welcome to The Bath Church
on this Fourth Sunday of Easter as we continue to celebrate and reflect
on the meaning of the resurrection. We especially welcome those who are
guests with us today. We look forward to giving you a "Welcome Bag" as
you leave the sanctuary so that you can become better acquainted with
us. Thank you for coming to worship, and we hope that you will join us
each Sunday.
CALL TO WORSHIP:
Leader: Christ is risen
People: He is risen indeed!

us, walls among all people. Come, worship the risen Christ and join him
in tearing down walls.

Worthy of My Praise No. 648
p OPENING PRAYER:
Indeed, praise be to you, O
God. You are the Creator. You are the reason I breathe, I think, I hope,
I love, and the reason I am here in this sacred space. Accept our
worship, hear our prayers, challenge us with your Word, renew us in your
Holy Spirit. Amen.
p PASSING GOD’S PEACE
Leader: The Peace of Christ
be with you!
People: And, also with you!
Leader: Please share the
Peace of Christ with those around you.
p RESPONSE: Lord I Lift
Your Name on High No. 88
Lord, I lift your name on
high. Lord. I love to sing your praises.
I’m so glad you’re in my
life. I so glad you came to save us.
You came from heaven to
earth to show the way, from the earth to the cross,
My debt to pay; from the
cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky,
Lord, I lift your name on
high.

BAPTISM HYMN: Jesus Loves
Me No. 437
Jesus loves me! This I
know, for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong; they are weak, but he is strong.
(Refrain)
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
Jesus loves me! he who
died, heaven's gate to open wide;
he will wash away my sin, let his little child come in. Refrain
Gentle Jesus, with me stay, close beside me all the way;
he’s prepared a home for me, and some day his face I’ll see.

of suffering, the joy of faith, the freedom of love, and the hope of new
life; through Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

SIGNS AND WONDERS
(2007), arr. David Cherwein
Duet by Jill Hornickel
& Arne Hosbach
Signs and wonders lead the
dancing from the heart God frees from fear:
Wings of angels greet the
maiden, and God finds a dwelling here;
Boldly may we lift our
hands, bow the head, and voice Amen;
Thus does glory shine at
midnight: open hearts invite the starlight.
Hope and freedom join the
circle: Mary to the garden came,
Saw the radiance of the
marvel, heard the Risen call her name;
Boldly may we heed Christ’s
call, step beyond the garden wall:
Beautiful the feet
proceeding with good news of death’s defeating.
Cast aside all fear and
hiding: hand in hand we dance the round,
God is with us, Christ
Abiding, and the Spirit’s gifts abound.
Hand in hand we dance the
round, we dance the round.
Called by God to holiness,
let us boldly serve and bless;
And to hearts that sigh and
hunger may our lives dance signs and wonders.

MICAH MOVIE NIGHT:
Sunday, April 20, 6:30 p.m. in Community Room. "Meeting Resistance"
(replacing the originally scheduled, "Taxi to the Dark Side")
MEETING RESISTANCE
raises the veil of anonymity surrounding the Iraqi insurgency by
meeting face to face with individuals who are passionately engaged
in the struggle, and documenting for the very first time, the
sentiments experienced and actions taken by a nation's citizens when
their homeland is occupied. Voices that have previously not been
heard, male and female, speak candidly about their motivations,
hopes and goals, revealing a kaleidoscope of human perspectives.
Featuring reflective, yet fervent conversations with active
insurgents, MEETING RESISTANCE is the missing puzzle piece in
understanding the Iraq war. Directed by Steve Connors and Molly
Bingham, this daring, eye-opening film provides unique insight into
the personal narratives of people involved in the resistance
exploding myth after myth about the war in Iraq and the Iraqis who
participate. Through its unprecedented access to these clandestine
groups, MEETING RESISTANCE focuses the spotlight on the "other
side", clarifying why the violence in Iraq continues to this day and
providing a deeper understanding of both the toll of occupation and
the human condition of resistance.
PLEASE MARK YOUR
CALENDARS for the evening of Friday, May 9 and the morning
and early afternoon of Saturday, May 10 for a church wide
"vitality" retreat hosted by the Long Range Planning Committee.
It will be worth your time! Details to follow.
PROGRESS THROUGH
PRESERVATION (PTP): An overview of historic preservation at the
county level will be the focus of county executive Russ Pry when he
speaks to PTP members, guests and friends in the original 1836
Chapel of The Bath Church, at 7:30pm on Monday, April 28.
Please join us in an historic setting for an interesting evening
which is open to all.

ROYAL
FAMILY KIDS’ CAMP NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Bath Church is sponsoring a one
week camp for abused/neglected children, ages 7-11. We take the kids
for one week and give them a positive experience where they are
treated like royalty, thus the name, "Royal Family Kids’ Camp." With
one counselor to two children, plus an additional staff to do
activities, the children are surrounded by people who care and have
an amazing week of royal treatment. Some of the activities we are
planning (in addition to daily swimming, non-competitive games with
our "coaches", singing, dramas, skits, activity centers/crafts,
etc.) involve a fancy tea party for the girls (dresses provided!)
and a day with the football coach for the boys, a huge birthday bash
for all the kids (some whom have never had a birthday party
before--some may not even know when their birthday is), a visit from
Victory Gallop, a magician, and a day of fishing, swimming, and
picnicking at Charles Mill Lake Park. The kids leave camp with
wonderful memories, a duffle bag filled with a music CD with camp
songs, a CD player, a scrapbook with pictures from camp (some kids
have no pictures of themselves at all before this!), two camp
T-shirts and the knowledge that they are loved.
Where do
the children we serve come from?
Most
Social Services departments refer children to faith based camps such
as those sponsored by the Salvation Army and Catholic Social
Services when two criteria are met; namely, that no child is coerced
to accept any particular religion, and that the foster placement
program, foster parents or other caretakers are given a voluntary
choice. Royal Family Kids' Camps meet these two criteria. Although
each camp counselor and staff member is a committed Christian, the
camps do not proselytize, and no religion is ever criticized or
denigrated. The camps extend Christian love and care, with adults
modeling a non-violent, positive way of life as an alternative to
many of the negative, abusive situations which abused and neglected
children have faced.
This is
where we need YOU…to help monetarily or at
camp the week of July 21-25, 2007. Please contact the church office
for more information at 330-666-3520, or see Karen Brandt or Susan
Bresnahan. A form is below for anyone who may be interested in
helping with Royal Family Kids’ Camp.

I will definitely help
the abused and neglected children of Summit County this summer. I
want to get involved in the areas mentioned below:
We still are
looking for two female and one male counselor . PLEASE
consider giving us a week of your time. We have 28 kids who
want to come to camp but we can’t bring them all if we don’t
have enough counselors! If childcare is a problem, we have
someone willing to help out in that area. Talk to either
Karen Brandt or Susan Bresnahan if you might be interested.
Birthday Party
Coordinator —We need someone to co-ordinate ‘Everyone’s
Birthday Party’ for the kids on Wednesday afternoon. We have
ideas, but we need someone to organize and chair a team of
people to come in for the afternoon and put on the party for
us (we’ll fund it!). This is a perfect thing for someone who
can’t come for the week but wants to experience camp. Talk
to Karen or Susan if interested (and we know you are!).
Decorating
Coordinator and Team —This year we want to have a team
come and decorate the children’s rooms so they’ll be uniform
(for girls and boys) and will take this task from the
counselors. We have a budget for decorating, but would like
someone to purchase the decorations and coordinate a small
team to come to Ashland Sunday afternoon, July 20, and
decorate the rooms while the rest of the staff is doing
other camp preparations. Again, please talk to Karen or
Susan and let us know if you’re interested.
Call Karen Brandt
(330-618-4077), Susan Bresnahan (330-472-6504) or Bath Church
(330-666-3520), for more information.
