WELCOME AND WORDS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST

Welcome to The Bath Church!! We especially welcome those who are guests with us today. We look forward to giving you a "Welcome Bag" as you leave the sanctuary so that you can become better acquainted with us. Thank you for coming to worship, and we hope that you will join us each Sunday.

PRELUDE: Fugue in G Minor J. S. Bach

- As the Prelude begins, let us with silence prepare our hearts for worship -

p CALL TO WORSHIP:

Leader: Let us praise the Lord, our God!

People: For he has come to the help of his people and has set us free!

Leader: He has provided for us a mighty Savior,

People: a descendant of his servant David.

All: Our hope is in the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Come, let us worship him!

p HYMN OF PRAISE: Rejoice, the Lord is King! No. 342

p COMMUNITY PRAYER:

Merciful God, forgive us for things we have done that we ought not to have done, and things that we have left undone that we ought to have done. Through the sacrifice of your Son, Jesus Christ, you have promised us forgiveness. Enable us to accept the freedom from sin which that forgiveness brings, and help us to live as children of the Light which we have seen in Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

In silence we bring our prayers of confession….

p SILENT PRAYER • WORDS OF ASSURANCE • PASSING GOD’S PEACE: "May the peace of Christ be with you."

p RESPONSE: Give Thanks No. 359

Give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to the Holy One, give thanks because he’s given Jesus Christ his Son.

And now let the weak say "I am strong," let the poor say "I am rich," because of what the Lord has done for us. Give thanks!

Christmas season is around the corner and the "Giving Tree" committee is again asking for your support. The tree will be available before and after Sunday worship November 25 and December 2 in the narthex. Gifts are to be retuned to the Community Room before or after Sunday worship, December. This year we have 323 gifts to donate. This is a wonderful program and your continued support is greatly appreciated.

The following seven agencies will receive a Merry Christmas from Bath Church.

5. Open-M - This is a neighborhood ministry that helps inner city Akron persons by providing a Food Pantry and a free medical clinic. This non-profit organization also tutors children and helps families emerge from poverty.

6. Access, Inc. – This agency provides emergency shelter for homeless women and their children with a transitional program.

7. Ready, Set, Go – This agency provides assistance to families that are no longer on welfare, but in need of support during this transitional time.
