O God, we thank you for your
many blessings, especially for our community of faith, The Bath Church
United Church of Christ. You have brought us together, a diverse
people, united in our love for Jesus. Help us to love and respect
one another. Help us to be passionate and compassionate. Teach
us what it is for us to be "salt" and "light." Forgive us when we
get in your way. May our words and deeds reveal the Christ within
us.

WE ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO USE OUR
NURSERIES: We have two nurseries, both located on the 2nd
floor. Room 209 is for infants through 18 months and Room 207 is for
toddlers 18 months to 3 years (for your child’s safety, a pager must be used
while your child is in child care). Children 4 years through 1st
grade may go to the Care Room after the children’s moment. It’s located on
the second floor in Room 204. If at any time you need assistance, please
speak to one of the ushers.
THOSE DOLLAR BILLS: Many
members give their offering in a monthly check (a growing number by
electronic transfer). To demonstrate their response to God in worship and to
model their stewardship, many members gave an extra dollar bill or more in
the weekly offering plate when it is passed. You are invited to join in this
practice.

VETERANS DAY at
REVERE HIGH: The
staff and students of Revere High School will honor the men and
women who have served this great country of ours in a musical and
multi-media assembly on Monday, November 12 at
10am
in the Revere High School gymnasium. All veterans and their guests
are invited to a complementary breakfast at 8:30am. For information

WCF CRAFT NIGHT
on Friday, November 23 from
5:00pm to
midnight. Come join us in Fellowship Hall as we make Christmas cards
(40) for the Christmas baskets that we make every year for our
homebound friends.
ADVENT WORKSHOP
will be
held Sunday, November 25 from
4:30pm
to 7:00pm. Crafts
will be on display for sign ups in the Narthex on Nov. 11 & 18.
Craft tickets may be purchased at the display tables. Extra tickets
will be available at the Workshop. A potluck supper will begin at
4:30pm (we provide pizza, lemonade, milk, water & utensils) and
the crafts begin at
5:30pm with the
hanging of the greens and a carol sing at
7:00pm. Everyone is welcome at this
Bath
Church
traditional way to welcome in the Advent Season. We will have
babysitting this year! Craft leaders are still needed to lead

MICAH MOVIE NIGHT
Saturday November 17 at 7:00 pm. Join us for “Sicko” in the
Community Room.
REMEMBRANCE:
On
Sunday, Nov 25 during both services of worship, we will remember
those of our church who have died in the last year. This has become
a tradition for us at Memorial Day and on the last Sunday of the
church year, before Advent.
 
HANDEL’S MESSIAH:
The Bath Church is one of three host locations for the Akron
Symphony Orchestra's performance of Handel's "Messiah". The
performance will be at 3 PM on Sunday, December 2nd
in our Sanctuary. A limited number of tickets (500) are available
for this concert and Bath Church members have an early opportunity
to purchase seats. All tickets are $20 (no discounts apply). Tom
Clark will be selling tickets in the Narthex for the next 3 Sundays
(Nov 11-18-25) between services. You may pay by cash, check or
credit card. Tickets are also available thru the Akron Symphony
Ticket office. Additional details are available at AkronSymphony.org.
WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS
LUNCHEON
is set for Saturday, December 1 at the Akron City
Women’s Club. Babysitting will be available and there may be a
possibility of carpooling.
Tickets will be on sale November 18 & 25 in the Narthex.
WCF CHRISTMAS
BASKETS
will be assembled on Tuesday, December 4 from 7:00-9:00pm. If
you see anything when you’re out and about that may be a good item
to include in the baskets for our elderly, please pick it up and you
will be reimbursed (questions, contact Gayle Phelps 330-239-6609.
Items that we have purchased in the past are pencils, pens, hard
candies, calendars, large print books, and hot chocolate packets.

ACME RECEIPT BOXES OUT:
Save your Acme Store receipts from September through March to help our
youth programming. Boxes are out in the narthex areas.
VOLUNTEER HOUSING NEEDED:
Wider Church Ministries UCC is in the process of inviting two
long-term volunteers to serve in Cleveland through the "Partners in
Service" program of UCC Volunteer Ministries. They will be in
Cleveland from February 1 – December, 2008. We are looking for
housing options to provide for them as part of the program. Are
you in need of a house-sitter during this period? Do you know of
someone with extra space in their home for a couple in their sixties?

THE HEIDELBERG COLLEGE
CHOIR (UCC related college) is performing TODAY, November 11 at
4:00pm in concert at the Brecksville UCC, 23 Public Square,
Brecksville Ohio 44141. The Choir, under the direction of Dr. Grant
William Cook III., will sing works by Lasso, Schütz, Eberlin, Salieri,
Schubert, Jennings, Lauridsen, Clausen and Chatman, along with settings
of traditional American hymns and spirituals. A free will offering will
be received, and a spaghetti and meatball supper will follow
the concert.
Mt. Zion – Bath Gardeners
Harvest Dinner: Potluck style with a pumpkin theme. Table service
and beverages will be provided. 6 PM, Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Mt.
Zion Baptist Church.
Please bring
1. A dish of your choice
to share. If everyone brings a desert, no problem; if everyone
brings a salad, no problem.
2. A picture, drawing,
story, poem, fact, or fallacy about pumpkins. You can even bring
a pumpkin if you have a beautiful/unique/strange one.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church’s Food Pantry. We’ll take the food to the church

on both floors for your donations of: canned meats & tuna; sugar &
flour; ketchup & mustard; dinner box mixes; cake mixes & frosting; and
instant vanilla & chocolate pudding mixes.
